Repton School Introduction
Founded in 1557 and located in the picturesque village of Repton in the county of Derbyshire, Repton School is fully co-educational with a strong boarding ethos. The heart of the school is based around the 12th-century Priory with its beautiful Garth and Cloisters. Academic work is at the heart of what Repton School does and each year around 10% of pupils are offered places at either Oxford or Cambridge Universities. Repton is recognised as one of the top sporting schools in the UK and excels at Hockey, Football, Tennis and Cricket. The School also has very strong Music, Art and Drama departments. Repton’s education addresses the whole person through a rich balance of the three primary facets of school life: the academic, the pastoral and extracurricular.
Academic Programme & UKiset
Our Programme combines a strong emphasis on challenging collaborative activities and engaging courses with an inspiring British curriculum. Our teachers are experienced in fostering the academic development of the children in a fun and engaging way. Anglo Academy offers students the opportunity to take the UKiset (UK Independent Schools Entry Test) at the end of their time on our course. Our morning workshops for UKiset students focus on verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and numerical testing in preparation for the exam.
Pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. All of the activities are designed with the safety and entertainment of the students as a primary concern. Managing Director Caroline Drewett has over 10 years of experience in educational camps and oversees the pastoral care of our summer camp to ensure that they maximise their time away from home. All our teachers and sports staff are highly qualified to ensure the happiness and well-being of each student. We make sure every student is settling into the course well with one-to-one regular meetings which allow us to get to know each child personally.
The camp provides an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds and various parts of the world to take part in an international boarding experience. Previous campers have come from everywhere from the UK, Finland, Germany, France, Mainland China and Hong Kong. In addition to the academic side of life, on our kids’ summer camp in the UK students have the chance to experience taster sessions for traditional British sports such as rugby and cricket and learn vital social skills such as dining etiquette for formal dinners. We also provide trips to various UK towns and attractions which are both enjoyable excursions and a way for students to learn more about the country, its history and culture.
